e-Assessment
e-Assessment, the delivery of tests to candidates on-screen, is a rapidly growing application of ICT in education. On-screen tests are now widely used for both examinations and assessment for learning.
AlphaPlus has played a leading role in supporting Awarding Organisations and government agencies in planning, developing and rolling out these assessments. Our e-assessment services include:
- e-strategy: business analysis, strategy and planning of e-assessment services within an organisation’s wider e-strategy
- project management: contractor and risk management for UK government clients deploying e-assessment
- assessment development: developing, trialling and publishing high stakes on-screen assessments and item banks
- evaluation and analysis: qualitative and quantitative performance monitoring of assessment programmes.
Clients
- We have developed e-assessment tools for national programmes in all four home nations (for BIS, CCEA, SQA and DCELLS ),and for many Awarding Organisations
- We have consulted for many Awarding Organisations on e-assessment including City and Guilds, Edexcel, AQA, QCDA, UFI learndirect and SQA
- We contribute to test performance management processes for a number of Awarding Organisations
- We have managed the delivery of major e-assessment programmes for clients including the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills
- From 2007 to 2010 we were engaged as JISC’s expert consultant on e-assessment in the higher education sector.
