Curriculum and assessment
AlphaPlus has a blend of experience and expertise in curriculum and assessment that enables us to offer a unique provision to schools seeking Academy status.
- We have conducted a number of curriculum development and assessment evaluation projects over the years for QCA.
- We are currently carrying out two projects for QCDA - the first an evaluation of changes to A levels and GCSE syllabuses along with the associated assessment arrangements; and the second an evaluation of the linked pair of Mathematics GCSE (involving more than 25000 candidates annually) including consideration of the extended mathematics syllabus and its assessment régime.
- We are also recently completed another QCDA project in which we were responsible for receiving and analysing candidate data for Functional Skills assessments from eleven awarding organisations, reporting on the outcomes of the assessments and making recommendations for the future direction of Functional Skills assessment policy.
- Another part of our work is authoring the computer-based tests for the TDA in literacy, numeracy and ICT for those seeking to become qualified teachers. More than 40000 candidates takes these tests each year.
- We have also worked extensively with the Diploma qualifications and vocational qualifications such as BTECs and Nationals.
We believe that this combined expertise in curriculum and assessment enables us to offer a unique provision to schools seeking Academy status in ensuring that their curriculum and assessment planning and delivery go hand in hand.
